The MHL has announced its Gongshow Three Stars of the Month for February, 2017.

BRADY GRIFFIN-HEFFORD – ST STEPHEN ACES

This month’s first star is forward Brady Griffin-Hefford of the St. Stephen Aces. In eight games, the 19 year old from Corner Brook, Newfoundland scored ten goals and added seven assists, helping propel the Aces to their most successful season to date. Griffin-Hefford started February strong with a hat trick and one assist followed by a goal and two assists in back to back games against the Summerside Western Capitals on February 3rd and 4th. The second year MHLer recorded multi-point games six times during the month and became the first player in Aces history to record a 30 goal season on February 24th against the Amherst Ramblers. Griffin-Hefford leads the Aces in points with 55 and sits in the top five in the MHL in goals scored with 31 as of the end of February.

MICHAEL DILL – PICTOU COUNTY WEEKS CRUSHERS

Second star honors for the month go to forward Michael Dill of the Pictou County Weeks Crushers. In nine games, the 19 year old from Windsor, Nova Scotia scored seven times and added 12 assists as the Crushers maintained their hold on top spot in the MHL’s overall standings. Dill recorded five multi-point games during the month, including five point outings on February 20th versus the South Shore Lumberjacks and February 26th against the Valley Wildcats. Last year’s MHL Rookie of the Year, Dill remains in the battle for the regular season scoring title with 83 points at the conclusion of the month. This is Dill’s second nomination to the Gongshow Three Stars of the Month, having taken home third star accolades in December, 2016.

JORDAN KING – AMHERST RAMBLERS

This month’s third star in Amherst Ramblers forward Jordan King. In ten games, the 19 year old from Corner Brook, Newfoundland scored seven goals and added 11 assists. King ended the month on a seven game point streak, highlighted by a five point outing against the St. Stephen Aces and a four point effort against the Woodstock Slammers on February 24th and 25th, respectively. Previously named third star of the month in September, 2016, the second year MHL veteran concluded the month of February as the Ramblers’ team leader in points with 73. King’s contributions have played a large factor in the Ramblers’ return to the MHL postseason for the first time since 2014.
